Eric's newest release... Eric's answer to many requests for an
album of the pop song covers he often does. Very eclectic... just
the voice and guitar... sounds just like "live".

Eric's fourth album, recorded in 1994 was a bit of an experiment. It is the first album
Eric has done with a band. Eric signed that year with a Christian label in L.A. called
Whitestone Records. It would be the first album of Eric's music distributed nationally in
the U.S., so the company felt it would be best to use many of Eric's older songs that
hadn't been heard nationally. The album contains seven songs off of "Because He
Lives" and "Taste & See", two new originals and two covers: Dan H's
"Little Worlds" and the hymn "Morning Has Broken" which was recorded
for Whitestone's Praise compilation album "Breakaway Praise". Phil Keaggy and
John Patitucci (of Chick Corea fame) were gracious enough to play on the album as well as
a number of other fine LA musicians. One interesting note; when recording the song
"Lead Me To Life" the drummer, Dave Smith, had never heard the song before and
asked for one run-through to listen and practice before recording. Just for fun, the
engineer went ahead and recorded anyway without Dave knowing it. Dave's expertise is such
that the practice take was perfect and was kept for the album! "Lead Me To Life"
has a full, easy rock feel, with Eric's acoustic foremost in the mix at almost all times.
A contemplative, inspirational theme.

Taste & See

Eric's third album, recorded in Spokane, WA, in 1990, is all originals, guitar and voice,
with a lot of stylistic variety, and a bluesy edge. Eric was listening to a lot of Ry
Cooder at the time, which is evident in the roots feel of the album. The blues song, Taste
& See, has been Eric's most requested song, and has received a great deal of airplay
in Europe. The band version of the song on the "Lead Me To Life" album was
included on a blues compilation album put out this year by one of Europe's largest
Christian labels, GMI Music.

Eric's second album, also acoustic guitar and voice only, was a response to requests he
had to do an album of pop covers. The album is half covers (James Taylor, David
Loggins, Bread, Bill Withers, Simon & Garfunkle) and half original love songs. Eric intended
the album to have a consistent easy rock flow. Recorded in Minneapolis in 1987.

Because He Lives
|
|
|
This is Eric's first album, consisting of entirely original songs, written by Eric at ages
17 to 22. The album is just voice and guitar, recorded live in one take. The first version
was recorded in Sweden in 1985 for $100, selling over 2,000 copies at performances in
coffeehouses and schools in Holland, Sweden and Denmark. Then in 1987 Eric re-recorded the
songs in Minneapolis to come up with a better quality recording-- the current version. The
songs are spiritual and intimate.
